Events: Memorial Day 2013: Haworth
Haworth is a close-knit, friendly community. It was commented that the reason why there were relatively few people viewing the Memorial Day Parade on May 27th was because so much of the town's population was actually in the parade. Here are some highlights.

Theater Reviews: Boeing Boeing
A few years back, this reporter used to have a game, when watching an old movie on TV. He would take a look at clues in the movie, such as technology, fashion, and, most notably, social attitudes, and try to figure out when the movie was made. There were certain landmarks that were very useful; one notable one was the radical difference in the attitude towards women which would clearly demarcate a movie made before 1969 from a movie made after 1971. It was therefore with great interest to see how a sex romp from the early 1960's would stand up to today's standards. However, with the Bergen County Players' production of Boeing-Boeing, it turns out that not only is this not a problem, it is not even an issue.

Libraries: Oradell Public Library Celebrates 100th Anniversary

Here are a few photos illustrating the event.

Events: Arbor Day in Dumont, 2013
Part of the Arbor Day Foundations requirements to be a "Tree City USA" is to have regular Arbor Day ceremonies. Many towns have small ceremonies, but the Dumont Shade Tree Commission has never been known to go by half measures, and includes contests with prizes, the planting of a new tree in the Arboretum (on West Shore Avenue between Madison and New Milford Avenues), and other ceremonies along with it, and their April 27th, 2013 Arbor Day celebration continued with that tradition.
